The Pulled pork is a pork butt smoked for 16 hours and hand pulled with our own sauce. I agree with a pound of pork the bun does get a little bit soggy. The cheese on the burger which is fresh ground burger daily is Hoffmans White American Cheese not processed. Oh yeah the pork is not from a tub Sammy .
We agree the outside does not match the inside we have this in the brainstorming works but if any one has funky stuff to donate bring it on maybe we can make a contest of this idea. We are locally owned by Frank Tooley of Franks Meat & Produce and Chris Mizell. Come in next time and ask for Jennifer and the Homemade dessert is on us. Thanks Oscar!

    Hey Jennifer-

Thanks for the comment! Being from Western KY, I’m a bit of a barbecue snob, and I’m sorry, but that style of barbecue isn’t my thing. That “style” is more about the sauce, than it is the meat, which is what bbq’s supposed to be about. I prefer a more traditional pulled pork. One that lets the smoky goodness of the *meat* speak for itself, not just sopping up the sweetness from a sauce. That type of BBQ does, I’m sorry, reminds me of “Bubba’s BBQ” straight from a tub. No offense meant!

My family and I ate at Morris’ Deli this afternoon, and they had the same thing…juicy, saucy shredded meat. I didn’t like it either. Just not my thing!

I’ll be back for sure to try the burger Oscar kept raving about! I’ll amend my post if I’m happier! Thanks again…keep it up!!!!!!

I get the Cubano every chance I get. I understand if wet BBQ isn’t your thing, but where else can you get a pound of pulled pork, melted swiss cheese, griddled ham in a sandwich that big for $5?

I understand being a BBQ snob, but even different BBQ is good BBQ – and some sauced-up pulled pork is always nice. And how can you be from Western Kentucky and not like sauced-up pulled pork? You must like dry-rub. It’s a whole lot better than that slop with Vinegar and Mustard from North Carolina.

I’m a big fan of the Lunch Pail. It’s one of the best local gems around for a quick lunch spot. Plus, their desserts are fantastic.

The Cubano is the best sandwich The Lunch Pail offers. It is original, and delicious. It’s very affordable, and you get your meal in less than five minutes. The food and service is better than I’ve ever had in Louisville. There are many delicious side dishes, and I especially like the Broccoli salad.

The signs and other items in the restaurant are collectibles, they are expensive and difficult to find.
It beats every other theme park, lowest common denominator Wal-Mart style restaurant around.

The last thing I would like to say is that I visit this restaurant because it is inexpensive, the food is awesome, and the service is excellent. I don’t care about what the building looks like or how it is decorated. If other businesses provided value and service to this extent, the economic downturn would evaporate.
