Oak Street Pizza

How can you open a restaurant, especially a pizzeria, and have such a buzz about the place so quickly? They’re even winning the “Best Pizza in Louisville” poll here on our website. Read on and find out why…

Tony Boombozz Pizzeria – Italian Week!

This place has won so many awards, that I probably don’t even have to tell you how good it is. But I will: It’s good.

Harry and I stopped in for lunch last week because I remembered how cheap their personal pizzas are ($2.99 for cheese, toppings are additional.) They also have great Panino Sandwiches that aren’t as inexpensive, but worth every cent.

Fire Fresh BBQ

Yup, another barbecue place reviewed on LouisvilleLunch. I can’t help it! There are a lot of good BBQ joints here in beautiful Louisville, Kentucky! Actually, I wouldn’t call Fire Fresh a “joint”…it’s too classy for that. They’re looking to franchise this small Louisville-based chain throughout the Eastern Seaboard. If there are any investors reading this…GO START ONE OR TWO…IT’S GOOD BBQ! […]

Fat Jimmy’s Pizza – Italian Week!

I had to stop at a client’s office near Frankfort Ave. today, and I wanted to grab a quick, yet delicious bite somewhere nearby. Fat Jimmy’s fit the bill perfectly, AND made this week ITALIAN WEEK! yay!

Sportstime Pizza (New Albanian Pub & Pizzeria) – Italian Week!

Yeah, technically this shouldn’t be on LOUISVILLELunch, but it’s just over a little bridge, and they do serve my new favorite pizza in Kentuckiana (yes, I just used that stupid term…and yes it’s my new favorite pizza). […]

Luigi’s Pizzeria & Pasta – Italian Week!

I’m going to dub this “Italian Week at LouisvilleLunch.com”. Tonight’s Wednesday, and we’ve been to 3 italian places for lunch this week. WhatsaMattah with Us-ah? Ok, I promise never to say (or type) that again. Geesh.

So, Luigi’s…man, oh man. Jam recommended this place for lunch, and I was more than willing to try it. He’s been there a couple times and raved about it.

Crave Café

Hit & Miss

After a battle of cabin fever from the snow, we were all excited to have a beautiful sunny day to explore a new lunch spot. After some discussion we decided to try Crave Café at 2250 Frankfort Avenue. We had high expectations for this small, but inviting café. I had The Guido, a grilled chicken & pesto sandwich on a ciabatta bread, a cup of chicken artichoke soup and a side of bleu cheese slaw. The sandwich was average, while the soup seemed to be lacking. The combination of the vinegar dressing and blue cheese on the slaw was a bit overwhelming for my taste buds. […]

Slow lunch week

Jam’s been out sick this week, so things have been a bit slow around here. I’m sure no one wants to read reviews of the places I’ve run out quickly for lunch by myself this week. Everyone knows what Subway, LJS and Q*doba tastes like, right?

I did however re-visit Kentucky Barbecue Company again (alone). That’s where I go when I’m feeling lonely around lunchtime (ha ha). My review still stands…excellent food and friendly service. There was quite a big crowd as well. Word’s getting out!

Sitar Indian Restaurant

This place has generated quite a bit of Highlands buzz. Is Bardstown Road ready for another Indian place? And one with a daily buffet, unlike Kashmir’s weekend-only all-you-can-eat dining (UPDATE: Kashmir now has a daily buffet)? Exciting! But will it take over the long-standing rein of one of Sammy’s favorite Bardstown Road eateries? Read on…
